About Me

I have been an artist since I was a child, and have earned my living for most of my life applying those skills - from painting to photography to renovating homes - anything creative that required you see what something COULD be. I remember when I was a teenager and had my first darkroom, everyone loved the photos I did because they somehow stood out from the rest. Today I apply that same creativity every time I pick up the camera, whether it is for video or photography, every image should be interesting, well-composed, and beautiful. To me it's not just about earning a living - it's about leaving behind something of lasting beauty that will be cherished forever. –
The thing I enjoy most about my job is the people I work for. They are the ones I want to know about, the ones I want to capture for posterity. To me, each person is so very special, and the biggest reward I get is when one of my customers calls me after receiving their video or photos and tells me that they absolutely loved the work I did. There's really nothing better than knowing you have done a great job and made someone happy!
I know that when you hire me, you do so because you genuinely like my work and style and have trust in my abilities. I take that trust very seriously. I want to know what's important to you and I do my best to cover not only those things, but other moments you may never have thought of, that in the end mean even more... Editing photos or creating a short film is very work intensive and requires a good amount of time, but I put in writing that your wedding will be done in 6 months or less. After covering your wedding I start working on your project right away in order to remember and recall the vibe, the feelings, the emotion of your day. The more time that goes by the more of that feeling may escape the memory of the person working on your film.

Here is what one bride wrote about here wedding - it's bringing people happiness like this that I truly live for:

I've never been the girl who loved having her photo taken. I've never enjoyed looking at photos of myself. So, naturally, I was more than a bit apprehensive and actually dreaded the idea of having to endure wedding photos. Especially considering our wedding was out of state and we'd be hiring a total stranger as our photographer. Lucky for us, we found Gretchen Dzedzej.

Gretchen put every single one of my concerns to rest. She was open-minded and listened to my concerns. She took an active interest in what vision we had for our final photos and memories. She brought those ideas to life.

Gretchen was a blast to be around the day of the wedding. Her energy and enthusiasm were contagious. You can't help but smile when you're around her. She's so relaxed and so much fun, you completely forget you're being photographed at times.

When we received our photos, I was immensely pleased with her work. The quality, artistic vision, and uniqueness of each photo are all simply outstanding. Her talent is beyond comprehension to me. The experience of just getting to "hang out" with gretchen and having an album full of amazing visuals are among the MANY reasons I would highly recommend Gretchen to anyone and everyone who needs a photographer. I could not be happier that Gretchen was such a huge part of our wedding day.
